MWD provides garbage removal services to municipalities, businesses, and residential customers throughout Downeast Maine. Dumpsters are available in sizes ranging from 2 to 10 cubic yards. We will service your dumpster based on your needs.
We offer temporary dumpsters. We can adjust your service based on your seasonal needs or special event. Just give us a call.
What is required to establish an account?
When you call to set up service, you will be required to pay your first and last month as well as a $75 security deposit at or before the time of delivery.
Can we get additional service?
Yes. Our disposal routes pass through most towns at least once a week. For an additional fee we can provide an extra tip or out of schedule tip for your dumpster.
Does getting additional service change my scheduled service day?
No. Your dumpster will still be tipped on your regularly scheduled service day regardless of the date of the additional tip.
Does my schedule day of service fall on the same day each month?
No. Our routes are based on a 4-week schedule. For example, if your container is emptied once every 4 weeks on a Tuesday. Months that have 5 Tuesdays will cause your service day to shift to the following month. Refer to the Dumpster Service Schedule given to you at the start of your service.
Can I change my service when my demand changes?
Yes. We understand that many customers in Downeast Maine see a dramatic drop in activity during the fall and winter months. We are more than happy to reduce or even end your service during these slow times. Monthly billing, will of course, be adjusted to reflect the reduction of service.
Is there a commitment necessary for dumpster service?
Yes. We ask for a one (1) year commitment to our dumpster service. You are free to cancel your service at any time. However, if service is canceled within the first year, you will be subject to a a loss of your $75 security deposit.
What is your service area?
At this time, our dumpster service is available to residents, businesses and municipalities located Hancock, Washington, and some areas of Penobscot Counties.
How much notice do we need prior to dumpster delivery?
We ask for 48 hours notice for delivery of our dumpsters.
Are the dumpsters lockable?
Yes. If requested, MWD will provide and install a lockbar for your container free of charge. After installation, you will need to provide your own padlocks. You do not need to worry about providing us a key for your new padlock. The lockbars are designed to release when the dumpster is tipped.

Dumpster Service Agreement
Services: Mark Wright Construction & Disposal (MWCD) will have the exclusive right to provide dumpster service as described in this Service Agreement for a one (1) year period for the collection, transportation, disposal and/or recycling service(s) of non-hazardous wastes for a monthly fee under the terms stated in this Service Agreement. This agreement will automatically renew at the completion of the first year of service. This Service Agreement may be terminated without cause within the first 5 business days of service by either party. MWCD may terminate this Service Agreement at any time thereafter. The intention to terminate must be stated in writing and sent to the other party by fax or email. If after 5 business days the customer decides to terminate service, the customer will incur a $75.00 cancellation fee if service is cancelled within the first year of service.
Dumpster Contents: Dumpster contents will remain property of the customer until loaded into the body of a MWCD refuse vehicle. The customer warrants that no solid wastes collected by MWCD will be special, medical, chemical or hazardous wastes as defined by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection. For such wastes, the customer will be responsible for any additional disposal or handling fees.
Equipment: The equipment (dumpster) provided by MWCD shall remain the property of MWCD. The customer will be responsible for loss or damage caused by theft or negligent use of the dumpster. The customer will not over load the dumpster by either weight or volume nor alter the equipment and will take reasonable precautions to prevent others from doing so. The dumpster will be used only for its intended purpose. Unobstructed garbage truck access to the dumpster shall be provided on the service day(s). If the dumpster is not accessible at the time of service, another attempt will be made to service the dumpster on the next day a MWCD garbage truck is passing by. If access is obstructed for a long term due to a broken down vehicle(s), soft driveway, snow, ice, or tree limbs, service will not be attempted until such time that safe and unobstructed access is available.
Equipment Placement: An associate of MWCD will check the customer’s property for the best location for the dumpster to be placed for servicing. This is a good faith effort; but tree trimming and/ or possible dumpster relocation may be required once actual service is attempted. Any alterations to customer’s property to provide for dumpster servicing will be the responsibility of the customer. If service is found to be impossible or impractical due to safety issues or poor access, the dumpster will be removed and any refund due for services not rendered will be returned to the customer.
Terms: All new customer accounts must pay the first and last regular monthly service fees at the time the account is established (upfront). All invoices following will be sent at the beginning of the month for that month’s regular service. If applicable, invoices will also include charges for any additional services (tips) received or charges incurred during the previous month. The customer agrees to pay MWCD the fees set herein in accordance with the terms of this agreement and the terms of the MWCD invoice or statement. MWCD reserves the right to charge, and the customer agrees to pay, a late fee of 1 ½ % per month (18% annually) on all outstanding balances over 30 days from the date of invoice.
Default: If this account becomes 45 days in arrears, MWCD will automatically suspend service. After 60 days, the dumpster will be removed and the service will be cancelled. In the event of default, in addition to finance charges, the customer agrees to pay all collection fees, court costs, attorney fees, and other reasonable expenses incurred by MWCD during the collection of this account. The customer will be responsible to pay all outstanding charges as per the Services and Terms sections of this Service Agreement.
Property Damage: MWCD is not responsible for damages to any and all customer property including, but not limited to: driveways, culverts, pavement, lawns, gardens, utility services, septic systems, trees, shrubs, or buildings.
Mark Wright Construction & Disposal reserves the right to:
1. Adjust service fees/prices.
2. Change the service schedule. (Notice will be given to the customer prior to enacting a change in the service schedule.)
3. Assess additional charges for dumpsters which are filled beyond their intended capacity, picking up additional garbage piled on the ground around the dumpster, providing additional tips of the dumpster, providing servicing in addition to regular service, or excessively heavy dumpsters such as those above 150 pounds per cubic yard.
